The Amateur
Sarah (Rachel Brosnahan) is the wife of Charles’s wife (Rami Malek), a cryptographer working for the CIA. When Sarah becomes the victim of a terrorist attack in London, Charles sets out to track down the attackers. Driven by grief, he forces the CIA to train him as a field agent threatening to leak classified information about covert operations led by Chief Moore (Holt McCallany) if they refuse. After completing his training, Charles leaves the agency’s facility to begin his mission.
The Amateur is adapted from the novel of the same name by Robert Littell, which was previously made into a film in 1981 directed by Charles Jarrott, with Littell also serving as screenwriter. LSF has classified this remake as suitable for audiences aged 13 plus. (fen)
