A Minecraft Movie
After losing their mother, Natalie (Emma Myers) and her younger brother Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen) move to Chuglas town, taken in by their relative Dawn (Danielle Brooks). One day, Henry, an inventive boy with a love for experimenting, stumbles upon a mysterious magic cube in the antique shop owned by Garrett "The Garbage Man" (Jason Momoa). The cube pulls him through a portal into a whole new world: the Overworld, a blocky, enchanting realm built entirely of cubes. Determined to find Henry, Natalie and Dawn follow him through the portal and soon encounter Steve (Jack Black), who has been taken hostage by the villainous Malgusa. Together, the unlikely team bands together on a daring quest to save the Overworld from Malgusa’s sinister plans.
This live-action film adapts the massively popular sandbox video game Minecraft by Mojang, which has sold over 300 million copies worldwide. With elements of violence and some strong language. LSF has classified the film suitable for ages 13 plus. (rna)
