Justine Gandy (Julia Garner), a newly hired elementary school teacher, finds her life turned upside down when 17 out of 18 students in her class suddenly go missing at the exact same time. Without their parents' permision, the children quietly left their homes at 2:17 a.m. they was disappearing into the night without a trace. As panic spreads, suspicion quickly turns toward Justine. Among the concerned parents is Archer Gragg (Josh Brolin), who accuses her of hiding something. But as more unsettling details come to light, Archer joins forces with Justine, the school principal Andrew (Benedict Wong), and her close friend Paul (Alden Ehrenreich) to unravel the terrifying mystery: Where did the children go and why.

Writer-director Zach Cregger took an unconventional approach to filming Weapons, reportedly withholding the full script from the cast and crew to preserve the story’s shocking ending. Each actor was only given the parts of the script relevant to their role, creating a layered and suspenseful atmosphere throughout production. Originally slated for a 2026 release, Weapons was fast-tracked for U.S. theatrical release in August 2025 following overwhelmingly positive test screenings. LSF has rated Weapons suitable for audiences aged 17 plus. Be Discerning in Selecting Content Suitable for Your Age.(sof)
