A powerful line was delivered by Nadiem Makarim, then serving as Indonesia’s Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, just moments before administering the oath to the 17 newly appointed members of the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) for the 2024–2028 term. The ceremony took place on August 28, 2024, at the Plaza Insan Pendidikan Berprestasi, within the Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta.

“I must remind you,” he said, “that the oath you are about to take carries with it a deep responsibility to the nation and the Republic of Indonesia, to the safeguarding of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, and to the welfare of the people.”
